Worried about the Internet Doomsday Malware shutdown taking the internets out of your Computer? Here’s how you can pre-emptive check if you will be affected, and even remove the malware (if you are flagged as being affected) before July 9th 2012.
Step 1: Run Malware Checker
Visit dns-ok.us a simple infection checker run by the DNS Changer Working Group (DCWG) to determine if your computer has the malware. The site will check your computer and instantly give you a thumbs up (for all clear) or a thumbs down (an infection).
If you get a thumbs up, you are free and clear, so go out and celebrate! If you get a thumbs down however, proceed to step 2
Step 2: Cleanse your Computer
Just visit the DCWG’s “fix” page – also run by the DNS Changer Working Group (DCWG) – RIGHT NOW, or at the very latest before Monday July 9th. Follow the few simple and straighforward instructions to rid your computer of the DNSChanger malware.
Let us know how it goes in the comments below, and don’t forget to share this post if you think your friend could be affected!
