Rick Blair Joins Street Fight As Adviser, Columnist

Rick Blair, CEO of Examiner.com joined the advisory board of hyperlocal media site Street Fight today.

Blair joins a board that includes Larry Kramer (CBS Marketwatch founder) and Rick Robinson (formerly of AOL Digital Cities).

As an adviser, Blair is expected to provide insights on key trends in the hyperlocal (where geolocation meets time) industry, offer guidance and introductions in the area of fundraising, advise on company strategy, and contribute content to the Street Fight website.

Bringing more than 30 years of publishing, business development and electronic media startup experience with him, Blair is an established and respected leader among the global content, advertising and digital industries. Most recently, Blair served as CEO of Clarity Digital Group, overseeing Examiner.com and NowPublic.com.

Street Fight is a media, events, and research company focused on the business of hyperlocal content, commerce and technology, founded in April 2011 by journalists Laura Rich and David Hirschman. Laura Rich most recently created recessionwire.com with Sara Clemence and Lynn Parramore after the former two editors were laid of from Condé Nast Portfolio during the height of the recession in 2009 (see related NYTimes.com story)

Street Fight also hosts Hyperlocal events called Street Fight Summit. The most recent Street Fight Summit was held in New York City last fall.

This year, there is a Street Fight Summit on the west coast, scheduled to take place here in San Francisco in the Summer (June 5, 2012)
