Peter-Paul Koch (@PPK), a very popular mobile platform strategist, consultant and trainer based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands will be leading the GTUGsf Code Labs event titled “A Day with @PPK (Peter-Paul Koch) | HTML5 Codelab“.

The event is part of an ongoing Codelab series made possible by GTUGsf, the San Francisco chapter of Google Technology User Groups (GTUG). I attended the first HTML5 Codecamp on programming WebSockets last Saturday with Peter Lubbers, and judging from my experience in that one, I am sure this 2nd HTML5 Codelab will be full of hands on coding for the mobile web.

The one day event takes place at DevBootCamp in downtown San Francisco (Address: 923 Market Street *** – 2nd Floor, San Francisco, CA). on Saturday, April 7, 2012 starting at 10:00 AM. Cost is $69 at the time of this writing. Codelabs and Codecamp events such as this one sell out pretty fast, so I recommend getting your tickets early!

For the latest and to RSVP, please visit the event page on GTUGsf.com.

What Will Participants Learn At @PPK’s HTML5 Codelab Event?

Here is a (still fluid?) agenda of the event. As always, check the actual event for the latest agenda.

10AM: CODELAB 1 PPK! Peter-Paul Koch

12PM: CATERED LUNCH (Vegetarians, Vegans, let host know in advance!)

1PM: CODELAB 2 – PPK! Peter-Paul Koch

4PM: DRINKS AND NETWORKING

6PM: DOORS CLOSE

*** = Some participants in the past have had difficulty entering the DecBootCamp building. So just look out for a gray door on the 900 block of Market Street, odd side, and once you enter the gray door, there will be a bell / buzzer to your left that you press to get in.

appbackr, the world’s first wholesale market for iphone and ipad apps, wants to give all iOS developers and designers a stage to build an app from idea to launch over a weekend.

That’s why they are hosting appbackerthon - a free hackerthon for Hackers & Designers – at the SoundCloud HQ in Berlin, Germany.

The event is titled ‘Hacker & Painter‘ because appbakr’s goal is to connect top engineers and awesome app designers together and pump out awesome apps. With that in mind, they keep the ratio of engineers to designers at 3:1. Also there will be no business peeps, so all suits reading this take note – You are excused from this hackathon!

Appbackerthon Hackathon Details

The appbackerthon runs from Friday, January 07, 2011 (8:00 PM) through Sunday, January 09, 2011 (5:00 PM) Berlin local time. You are allowed to use all kinds of existing APIs to build your App. The only requirement is that the app should be build for iOS devices i.e. iPhone apps, iPod apps, and iPad apps.

At the end of the event appbackr will give out prizes for the best apps. Pretty neat huh? I mean where else do you get the opportunity to “try out” your ideas and get a prize for it?!
