Founded in Germany in 2007, Statista is a leading online statistics portal that combines data on over 60,000 subjects from over 10,000 sources. So you can find statistics on just about anything on their platform and all on one website!
Statista also regularly provides up-to-date infographics on the latest events in media, economy and technology. Their “Chart of the Day” -currently used by us here at oObly as well as other technology sites like Venturebeat and Mashable, is released under the Creative Commons License CC BY-ND 3.0 and can be embedded on any blog or website with proper attribution. Some of the recent technology charts they created include one on Groupon’s key to profitability and another one showing how Facebook tumbled upon going public, dragging down Zynga’s shares also with it.
The sources of information statista uses include market research, trade publications, scientific journals, and government databases. The information is aggregated on the platform by a team of about 60 editors, statisticians, content managers, analysts and database experts and all the sources are cited accordingly.
The company currently operates under a fremium model where some of the statistical data on the website is accessible for free while for others need you to purchase an account to access the charts and data. Check ’em out!
