For instance,

  • 36% of students prefer a blended-learning classroom, rather than one that’s purely high-tech.
  • 43% of students fell that their institution needs more technology.
  • Wordprocessor beats email and presentation software as the #1 most important software / application that students claim to be “most valuable” for their academic success.
  • 81% of students felt that the Laptop was their most important tech device. No surprises here.
  • Surprisingly, only 4.8% of students and 8.9% of faculty admitted to using technology very frequently.
  • 75% of the college students said that Wi-Fi access on their college campuses helps them get better grades.
  • Last but not least, Google was the most important site for students, with 36% of the college students considering google to be most essential for their success.
  • Facebook came in at a measly 3%. In other words, 97% of college students don’t considering Facebook as essential for their success.
