What Took Angry Birds So Long?

It has taken for ever for Angry Birds to arrive onto the Windows Phone 7 platform. Last fall, Microsoft has a page on it’s Windows Phone 7 website that also featured an Angry Birds icon, hinting at the game coming to windows phone handsets with the Windows 7 launch.

Rovio, the game creators, however, quickly tweeted that they had never “committed to doing a Windows Phone 7 version” of Angry Birds. Rovio added that “Microsoft put the Angry Birds icon on their site without our permission.

Microsoft initially said the game would ship in May of this year, though that date was later pushed back to June 29 (today). As of Tuesday night, the game was already available for download in the Windows Phone’s marketplace.
