Vlix, a new video editing and sharing application for iPhone that combines mobile sharing features with state of the art video editing functionality, will soon be available on the app store, according to Liz Gannes’ report on allthingsD.
Back in March, Justin. tv had launched the Socialcam app and now SpotMixer–a video ad creator that also operates the consumer video site One True Media, which has five million users–is launching the iPhone app Vlix.
Think of Vlix as an Instagram-meets-Vimeo app experience. Spotmixer already has a lot of experience in the video space and is known for being a leading provider of web-based video ad creation and distribution services for businesses and other consumers. This new app – Vlix – is not to be confused with Spotmixer’s previous video editing and sharing app – vlip – which is already available in the iTunes app store and is a “scaled-down” version of this soon to be release app.
“As shooting video has evolved from being ‘special occasion-based’ to a great way to capture and share our everyday lives , we designed vlix to make it fun and easy to shoot and share video clips with friends and family in the most engaging ways possible.” says SpotMixer CEO John Love in the same report.
Editing features are tailored toward amateur video and movie makers and range from expected choices for video trimming and text annotations to fancier options such as artistic effects – like filters, lenses, blurs, matts and similar features seen in mobile photo-sharing apps — color correction and contrast boost.
In addition to mobile video capture and posting to Vlix,YouTube and Facebook, the Vlix app offers simple video altering with effects : reverse , slo-mo , color correction, black-and-white and even sparkles!
