Forget all the self-proclaimed ‘Social Media Marketing Gurus’ endlessly putting out useless blog posts on “How To Get More Twitter Followers“, all you have to do to really get more tweeps following you, is ask @BronxZoosCobra how she did it- if you can find her that is.
In less than 3 days since she joined twitter, @BronxZoosCobra added over 200,000 tweeps to her follower list. @oObly became her 219,121st follower today!
Meanwhile, the only tweep that @BronxZoosCobra is following – the Jail Zoo that she escaped from – @TheBronxZoo, is struggling to find tweeps, with a follower count of less than 10,000.
So how did @BronxZoosCobra become so popular on twitter in 3 short days ( inspite of not being an @charliesheen or @justinbieber, who had it “easy” on twitter)?
- First and foremost, it was a really clever / creative idea, to be tweeting as a zoo animal that went missing, when the whole city of New York was looking for it. More so considering that this was a cobra, a “dangerous venomous ” snake that is bound to keep everyone in the area on the edge!
- Next, the Bronx Zoo Cobra tweets were extremely funny and hilarious, and a series of retweets of those funny tweets led to a larger following.
- On top of this, New York City’s Mayor Michael Bloomberg also tweeted at @BronxZoosCobra, saying how he and President Obama visited the NYC Museum of Natural History, and did not find @BronxZoosCobra. That was retweeted by 100s of tweeps.
- Finally, all major blogs and news agencies picked up on the twitter account, and wrote stories about it, which led to a large number of tweeps following @BronxZoosCobra in a relatively short span of time.
Now that the REAL Bronx Zoo Cobra has been captured and jailed again in her cage @TheBronxZoo, we hope and pray that @BronxZoosCobra will take up the cause to FREE the REAL Bronx Zoo Cobra from the horrific conditions inside the Jail Zoo!
