How are WordPress.com, Mashable.com, PerezHilton.com and other big WordPress powered sites able to handle millions of visits a month with little or no downtime and time lag? They do so by leveraging the “cloud” and by using CDNs (Content Delivery Networks) for their static media like videos, photos, and static documents like their style (CSS) files and related images.
On the last day of this month, at the WordPress HQ in downtown San Francisco, the “WordPress in the Cloud” meetup promises to give you some insights into how to host wordpress in the cloud and scale your blog / website reliably. If you are running a blog or website that you expect to become big, you should not miss this event. The event is takes place on Monday, January 31, 2011 at 6:00 PM at the Automattic Lounge in San Francisco, California.
